It’s coming directly over us. They are telling people to fill their tanks and have plenty of water etc. Local officials said there could be 400,000 to 1,000,000 people coming to this area. It wouldn’t take many to overwhelm my little town of 14,000 people. Motels and hotels all around are already booked up and so are campgrounds.
From the article:
...”So what does all of this mean?
I dont know”

You want to hear something spooky...
That X is right over the New Madrid Fault.
Where are you and why are people coming there?
Rabun county GA is expecting 30,000-40,000 people for the total eclipse. Do not go near Clayton or Tallulah Gorge for two days. Its going to be a nightmare!
It seems to me they are making a big deal out of something that needn’t be that big a deal. We are in a good viewing area here in Nebraska & they are saying all this stuff like the motels are way overpriced, filled up, people likely to come in by the thousands,it could be a major disaster,etc.,etc. The whole thing will most likely come & go in the matter of a few minutes as far as the major part of the eclipse. The other things they are warning about are a matter of conjecture at this point. If it happens that there any disastrous effects,a lot of people are going to be a long ways from home & probably very anxious to get back. That alone could create a lot of problems.
Saw one in the ‘60s - no need to go nuts to get someplace for ‘optimal viewing” again.
