In case you’re wondering why you’re getting such vitriolic responses (which you’re probably not), it’s because we all have a tendency to not understand the passions of others. If you’re not a cat person, or an animal person, the antics of animal lovers sounds ridiculous to you. I’ve known many childless people who marvel at the antics of doting parents. Of course they can’t understand. It’s just human nature. Your post poking at someone who is hurting is a bit nasty, but I think it stems from the same human tendency. No charge for the psychoanalysis, it’s on the house.
It was not intended to be mature. I am always amazed when someone posts a vanity thread because they are in emotional or physical pain and someone comes on and is rude or cruel. WHY???
They are posting because they want & need support from their FR family. So if you can’t offer compassion in that moment then it’s best to not post. No one needs to be kicked when they’re down.
I say this from experience. There are several posts I wish I had never posted. I did make amends to the people, but it was an unfortunate live & learn situation.
I need to get veterinary insurance!
