Prior to Trump, I had little interest in politics. I felt all politicians were crooked and the government was feckless. I never voted. The learning curve started with Benghazi. I watched my first hearings (at age 47) with Gowdy and Issa with hope. Only later to be surprised that 'all-knowing, all-wise, men of stature' (sarcasm) were incapable of critical thinking. Why didn't they ask this or that, I would scream at the TV. But I didn't give up, surely the IRS and email hearing would be favorable. Nope! I learned that hearings are theater, politicians are still crooked, and I went back to normal life finding solace that Obama could not be re-elected. THEN Trump took the escalator and I was ecstatic. Finally a real businessman and NOT a politician. Which brings me to today, I thought the swamp was merely congress. Now we know it is also the thousands of unelected bureaucrats. I now know politicians are not only crooked, but ignorant, narcissists and flunkies of their class. They understand nothing nor do they care to. Their only job is to vote on legislation that someone else wrote for them. Which brings me to why I penned this, midterms are coming, RINO's aren't challenged, and we are left with D vs. R with little difference. My question, "Where are candidates like Trump?" In a 365 mil population filled with brilliant people, none of them would ever set foot near the swamp. Those in the marble city are society's rejects. They are actors, groomed by lobbyists, and being paid well to not have any core beliefs or standards. 2018 will be no different, nor will the outcome. Trump cannot drain a sewer that is only fed by pipes carrying excrement. In closing though, I'm with Trump till the end. God bless him for exposing the many types of excrement at least.
The GOPe Senate was turned out to be the wurst.
McDemocRat and his butt boi, Linda gotta go, among others ...
They go to Washington to do good and they end up doing very well.
The love of money is the root of all evil - Timothy 6:10
Money in politics, campaign finance, the pressure to get re-elected without Term Limits is the core part of the problem.
Trump threatens this entire ecosystem.
They call him a populist. Is that because the views are popular?
And another, there are 4 boxes that the Citizen to address grievances, the soap box, the mail box, the ballot box and the loudest, ammo box. The first three do not work and the state of America and the extreme corruption that faces Washington DC, the final box is the only solution that may be left for us, IMHO.
Believe you me I ran the other three for 40 years until I was tired and broke. Things have only got progressively worse because America has gotten PROGRESSIVELY worse. Y
ou have 4 generations of black welfare and now it is spilling over into the white families where there are not white fathers.
You are seeing more and more drop outs from education to spend there time on the streets as members of gangs.
AND the worse, 49% of Americans think the damn corruptible FERAL Government owes them a living and needs to provide for them from cradle to grave. When you reach this tipping point, elections only make it worse.
The garden of America needs to be weeded and re-sowed with productive plants. Not fertilize and water robbing weeds.
Very well said. Thank you for having the courage to say it. The “Vanity” postings are excellent and I read every one because some very wise people, like you, are behind that keyboard and you are a real American, knowing that if our nation is lost to bad people, the world itself will be lost and another dark age will begin for human beings. Why is it that affluence seems to always turn to evil? Could it be that idleness, which exists, among the rich, plays a role because they do not have to endure the hardship of basic survival as most people do. In my Bible, God loves and cares for the poor over the rich. He says it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to go to heaven. I believe that with my whole heart and the reason God says that is playing out right before our very eyes. God does bless some with abundance, but He intends them to use that blessing to help those who suffer and, that, I believe is in the heart of one Donald J. Trump, who is trying so hard to make life better for the jobless and those who have been ignored for ever so long. That he is succeeding is one reason the shiftless and ineffective politician hates him. They desperately do not want him to show them up for what they are, as you have described. Charlatans, for the most part, exist on both sides.
The swamp includes more than just politicians & bureaucrats. It also includes lobbyists, and former lobbyists & former bureaucrats who because of their political connections & access to them who are now CEO’s of large corporations that are heavily dependent upon government for their livelihoods.
As for where are they, they are all around, however, it takes money & connections in a majority of the cases to get elected. Most cannot overcome that hurdle, or do not even attempt because they see no way to overcome that hurdle.
I agree with you and the OP. Do you all think Trump knows we’re out here?
Is the left purposely pushing us toward violence? They will lose bigly when the gloves come off. Frankly, I can hardly wait.
I’m with Trump, too.
I knew the swamp and uniparty would attack him and his family to no end. I knew it was going to be a scary, murderous hate we would be up against. I often wonder if he’s surprised at how deep the evil runs.
