Even Corey Lewandowski is still all over the media as an unofficial Trump spokesman, and he was publicly fired over a year ago.
Now Bannon will not have to take orders from General Kelly and he can speak freely.

I think you are right. Bannon didn’t do well as a public figure; that doesn’t mean his ideas have lost importance in Trump’s mind.
