The White House announced the recipients of President Donald Trump's donation to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts Wednesday, after the president last week revealed his pledge to give $1 million in "personal money" to support those affected by the storm.
The organizations, and the respective amounts each will receive, are:
Reach out America $100,000
Red Cross $300,000
Salvation Army $300,000
Samaritans Purse $100,000
ASPCA $25,000
Catholic Charities $25,000
Direct Relief $25,000
Habitat for Humanity $25,000
Houston Humane Society $25,000
Operation Blessing $25,000
Portlight Inclusive Disaster Strategies $25,000
Team Rubicon $25,000
Last week, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced the donation, and encouraged members of the White House press corps to submit recommendations for charitable organizations that could receive the funds. On Monday, Sanders said she received a number of submissions, and the White House's release Tuesday on the donations stated that "several" of the organizations were ones recommended by journalists.
"The President and First Lady witnessed the work of some of these groups first hand while visiting with hurricane survivors, first responders, volunteers, and federal, state, and local officials, and are proud to further assist the recovery efforts in Texas," read the White House press release....

Sounds like a generous President, a good Precedent. I will follow, with the Samaritans Purse.
I must have missed how much the Clinton Foundation or the Barack Hussein Obama Foundation gave.
During the Dell Technologies golf tournament, Michael Dell announced that the Dell Foundation is giving $36 million to Houston, very generous indeed. Did we miss the announcements from Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos,Cher, and other backers of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. After all, Houston voted for Hillary.
I had never heard of Portlight. Here is their description:
Portlight Strategies, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 1997 to facilitate a variety of projects involving people with disabilities, including post-disaster relief work. Portlight’s longest running disaster recovery effort followed the devastation of Superstorm Sandy in the shore communities of New Jersey and parts of New York City, and lasted for 18 months. During that time, we replaced lost durable medical equipment and ramping, and assisted residents in purchasing and installing accessibility equipment that was made necessary after their homes were elevated to meet federal flood insurance requirements.
...After all, Houston voted for Hillary...
And Hillary is repaying Houston by beginning a book signing tour in a few days, charging up to $3,500 to meet her and pocketing it while other people who are actual human beings with compassion are busy unselfishly raising millions for hurricane relief.
She is Satan incarnate.
Wow. I didn't hear that. Good for him - that is a LOT of money.
Red Cross launders & squanders 90% of donations.
Donate to Bob’s Garage for better results.
Bush?????
A texan.
Algore could donate 10% of his book sales...or just give $100. Same thing.
Eze 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Hillary is not Satan but she could be influenced by him.
I must have missed how much the Clinton Foundation or the Barack Hussein Obama Foundation gave.
Ive been waiting to see how much the Hollyweird crowd, who mostly are multi-millionaires, are giving.
What a breath of fresh air to have a president who is not trying to make his fortune via “public service” but is giving his salary and even his personal wealth.
We need more like him in office.
For him, becoming president was a step down in terms of being able to simply enjoy his life.
For most of the political class, they seem to treat their offices as careers rather than public service. They appear to imagine themselves to be royalty.
So much better than constantly reading about the lavish lifestyle of the former president.
Have the Clinton’s and Obama’s told us which charities they are donating to yet?
They tried to charge my late father for a donut and coffee when he got off the troopship after three long years fighting World War II in the Pacific.
The Clinton Foundation, naturally.
Grifters will always be grifters.
Team Rubicon are good people.
It was because of World War II and the way they treated my uncles that my mother said never give to the Red Cross only the Salvation Army
