I personally don’t donate to the Salvation Army, as they are a religion, and I don’t give direcly to different religions. That said, years ago I was sent to do some servicing of the computer systems in Connecticut. Their operation was functional, but spartan. The computers and the software chosen to run on them the same. I will say that money donated to the Salvation Army is not wasted on comforts for the main office employees.
Unless your church is doing the work that Salvation Army is doing you are missing an opportunity. Same is true of Samaritans Purse
