While the media collectively called President Trump's comments in Huntsville, Alabama insensitive to those suffering chronic traumatic encephalopathy (only because they saw the Will Smith movie and that's the extent of their football knowledge), real fans knew exactly what the president was referring to.
Anyone who's participated in any sport knows you play like you practice. Pop Warner-on-up knows there's no way to properly practice tackling without pads, that is unless you're playing rugby. Practicing with pads only one day before an NFL game... seriously?

No ..it’s being destroyed....and this by those who orchestrated and organized this take a knee issue.....BECAUSE they want to take away anything that brings the ROOTS of America together or that they enjoy....and that’s the common man...who of course support Trump.
They aren’t going after just Trump...but our culture as well....This is not about race...or police abuse.

9 out of 10 businesses fail. Customers change, the market, technology. What’s hard to understand is how ‘smart’ businessmen could be so stupid. No one knows what the future holds but you don’t have to waste time looking to start a fight. Perhaps that might explain why wars have been so prevalent throughout human history.
The NFL appears to now be frantically trying to stop the bleeding. When the do they will have a smaller fan base, less revenue, and this will mean smaller paychecks for all involved with the league.
Long before there was an NFL there was college football.
College ball goes back the 1880s. The NFL was formed in the 1920s.
College football will survive unless they imitate the NFL and alienate their fans. Or until they get busted up for massive corruption, which may well get exposed in the wake of the DOJ prosecution of college basketball.
The NFL is a dead man walking, it may just take awhile for the zombie to fully collapse. But fans will not continue to put up with having leftwing SJW garbage dumped on them. And the NFL doesn’t know how the free itself from the monster it has been feeding for years.

But VERY surprised that everyone, from the owners on down, drank the kool-aid.
Pride goeth before the fall. The owners, players and Goodell thought they were too big to be brought down. They were wrong! Now it's just a question whether they can backtrack fast enough to avoid permanent damage. I personally hope they can't.
Do you really think college football or ANY college sport or other pro sports (such as baseball) will never have these kinds of anti-American behaviors? That they won’t be susceptible to political correctness and activism?

Keep it simple...it’s all about the money and leverages of..... who has it and who doesn’t....going after large revenue sources is not new. ....It’s the ‘game’ we’re watching being played across this nation now.....next they’ll be in the streets wanting to shed blood and violence. Watch for it.

It is too bad that Green Bay is playing this evening. They have the most loyal fans who will never give them up. It is a religion of sorts. All over my FB page, I am seeing the posts about the game and all the jerseys etc. If Rogers, or Favre, said to jump, they will ask “how high?” Just the way it is. The whiners will be saying how no fans left, look at the stadium and so on. I wish it were different but between being GB and they are playing the Bears.....TNF will claim all is well.

I disagree.
I think the owners supported “taking a knee” because 70% of their players are Black, and close to 90% of their elite players are Black.
But, thanks to old fashion concerns about their paychecks, most players are already backing away from the original political narrative.
First, it was about alleged Police racism. Then, it was switched to “a conversation about race” (right, because no one in America EVER talks about race). And, just yesterday, it became “treating everybody with respect.”
The knee issue is already over, but some part of the financial damage is permanent.
I always think of this when considering it:

Watching the NFL now is like finding out the girl next door who was your high school crush became a prostitute.
