This flare up came as my 4 year old daughter has learned to like me reading to her and I was looking for the right books. So I just ordered the Cat in the Hat set.

Mass. librarians are scum. They fired me for being non pc. They’re teaching “two boys kissing” and “trans make up” now. They’re also celebrating the feast that breaks the Ramadan fast (this while little girls were being blown up in Manchester, England).

Black Conservatives love Trump, because he talks to Black people the same way that they talk to Black people.
He doesn’t use terms like “the soft bigotry of low expectations”. Instead, he basically says “the Democrats haven’t done s**t for you, and BLM is full of it”.
He inspires Black Conservatives to go to battle for him, in a way that no other Republican has ever done......if Bill Clinton was the 1st Black POTUS, then Trump is the 1st Conservative Black POTUS.
I’d ban Dr. Suess, because it contributes to the bad idea of whole word reading, which has created three generations of illiterates.

Bought a car at the Lexus Dealer in S. Atlanta. The finance manager who checked me out at the end was black. We said very little, then towards the end I complained about having to pay state tax on my lease when I do not own the car. He said they’re phasing the law out next year. He then talked about lowering taxes and how that benefits everyone. I jumped right in saying how do the democrats and media get away with their lies each time by saying tax reductions hurt the middle class and only help the rich?
REfeshing to speak to a fellow conservative, when they are educated (or not) and a minority, it’s doubly refreshing.
Because of social media, the democrats and media are not getting away with what they always did.
The Dan Rather’s, and the others like him are looked at now by the majority of voters as nut cases.

Dr Suess is part of the whole word learning method. This method teaches kids to recognize words as a picture and not by their syllables, as you would in phonics. The short term benefit is that kids learn simple words very quickly. The long term cost to them is in their literacy tends to be lower because their are only so many word-pictures you can learn.
They really ripped her a new one.
And Dr Seuss uses a lot of made up words that have to be SOUNDED out.
The problem with whole word learning isn’t the books used to promote the method, but the method itself.
ANY book can be a benefit to a child who learns phonics because they are reading.
Blaming the book is like blaming the gun when someone gets shot.
