We'll disagree, #695 is very much old school which the issue is trying to convey, while #696 is highly unique because Captain America is posed with a sword instead of his famous shield.

Perhaps #697 is less boring for you:

I agree with you. #695 has a strong Jack Kirby influence in my opinion, which I really liked. And #696 showing Cap with a sword was intriguing to me, which is the whole point of the cover, isn't it?

Not a comics reader anymore but have fond memories and those covers actually made me think "you know, if I were jumping back in I might do it to see what's up with Cap these days"
