The mainstream media has moved on, because they already made their point - gun control, and that is the only narrative they assigned, wanted to assign or will assign to the Las Vega disaster. The gunman who sprayed bullets down on a Las Vegas country music festival, killing 58 and injuring hundreds more, was a high-stakes gambler who “lost a significant amount of wealth” in the years leading up to the massacre, according to the city’s sheriff.
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said they’re looking into the mindset of shooter Stephen Paddock and suggested his “financial decline” could have been “a determining effect on why he decided to do what he did.”
Still, many questions remain unanswered in the case, Lombardo said during an hour-long interview with KLAS. He said he hoped understanding Paddock’s mindset and personality would offer insight into the deadly incident as well as the gunman’s possible motive.
“There was something that popped his trigger or caused him to go into that direction and we have yet to determine what that is,” he said. “I hope we find something in the pathology of his brain that helps us understand.”
