***it stopped making westerns because people stopped going to see westerns.***
Sad and probably true. Young people today do not relate to the Wild West and probably can’t name an ancestor before 1940.
When I was born I was held by my Great-grandfather, an old timey plains cowboy and Oklahoma homesteader who was born in 1868, and lived to see the B-52 go into service. I remember him well.

The movie can be described as the latest attempt from the leftists in Hollywood to edulcorate and/or falsify Americas history. Hollywood feels this type of movie provides covers for their exploitation, rape, and abuse of women - - they are wrong.

It has made me wonder about inheritable attributes. In college, I failed a cultural questionnaire; the leftist teacher upbraided me for psyching the test to seem non-white. I answered each question honestly. I did not then know I was part Indian. That is all just personal. If one is born here of American citizens, then one is a Native American - period!Interesting stuff Yogic - thanks for sharing.

Tje Louis book I’ve read was “Last of the Breed”
For what it is, the book is an OK ‘adventure’ novel, but hardly an examination of the Amerind culture.
The ‘other’ famous Western novelist of yore, Zane Gray is a very rare but fun read, but much of his work is pretty cookie cutter.

What i like about lamour is the historian more than the author. I do enjoy his fiction, in the way i enjoy Bond movies. Mostly two dimensional characters but a fun read.
