I really like the Remington Model 8. It fits me well. The long barrel jacket makes the front end heavy and stable, so it just hangs there.

It is elegant in its lines. Its mechanism, though complex, is John Moses Browning reliable. It was made with care and precision by master craftsmen in the United States, when those master craftsmen were at their peak before the term “World War” was ever known.

It is a take down rifle that breaks into two simple and easily transported parts (though, so does the AR-15 clone).

Perhaps that is why I hesitate to simply do the smart thing and sell it.
