I know a veteran that was denied a cop job for years because of alleged psychiatric issues (and preferred minorities were hired instead), but he finally landed one. Without that veteran designation, no white guy is getting a government job here in NJ...

SHREVEPORT, La. - A former Homer Police officer has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for his role in a vehicle fraud theft and insurance scheme, according to acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook. Donald W. Malray, 52, of Homer, La., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr. on one count of mail fraud conspiracy. In addition, he was sentenced to three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay $13,610.50 restitution and a $3,500 fine."
