Reviewing the past of the interactions of Fusion GPS and the House Investigation....of their bank records

I think the jjotto laid it our very nicely:
“Congressional hearings today are a way to keep topics out of the hands of actual prosecutors.
Congress creatures, regardless of party, cover very nicely for each other and keep us busy with the incessant “barking.”
Trey is fabulous!
Under a Republican Justice Department, his referrals of these criminals will bring the heat.
Posters are ignorant of the limitations powers of these investigative committees.
Blaming Trey for powers he does NOT have has become embarrassing.
I concur. At the very least, the public Congressional hearings let the people see some of the dirt that is going on. Which can apply pressure on the executive branch to take action. And as others have stated, the committees can make referrals for prosecution and hand over the results of their investigation.
Trey IS making noise about not re-authorizing the surveillance programs, which is coming up soon. THAT he can do, with the help of his fellow Congressmen. I do hate to see the hearings being turned into the first and only source of inquiry. These things should be initiated by a fair and impartial Dept. of Jutice. But we haven't had one of those for w while.
I get the feeling we are building up to something good right about now. The race is on between Mueller and Congress/DOJ. We shall see.
I don't agree with that.
Using your scenario, a president and his administration could then commit all of the crimes that they want, even to the point of keeping himself and his political machine in power, in perpetuity. And if the corrupt president and anybody in his administration get caught, they would have nothing to worry about.
That's exactly why we have the level of corruption that we have today. They have nothing to fear if they are caught.
That's Zimbabwe.
Utter nonsense. Congressional hearings aren't stopping our AG and his DOJ from prosecuting any crimes. If anything, they are pushing the AG and his DOJ.
It's Jeff Sessions' recusals, and a compromised Rod Rosenstein that are the reason why they are not prosecuting.
I agree.
I hear a lot of talk, talk I just don’t see any walk, walk.
Congress could defund the FBI and the DOJ, plus Mueller, so why don’t they?
Trey plainly likes solid, indisputable cases if not open and shut. I respect that, myself.
Under Obama, they prosecuted no one. Referrals were ignored.
He has never enjoyed the access to evidence and documents required to dominate a case and to prevail, even under Rubenstein. I trust him to bring the sword when he has the goods in his hands.
Meanwhile, he is the Master of interrogations. Blows his critics out of the air.
ENJOY!
One might think, listening to this PILE ON of nonsense posts, that Trey can be all together Judge, Jury, and Executioner.
Were it not so pathetic, it would be LAUGHABLE.

True.
But a majority of congress critters wouldn't vote to disband the DOJ and the FBI. The good guys like Reps. Nunes, Jordan, Getz, DeSantis and others are a minority.
Instead of throwing out the baby with the bath water, it would be better to just fire Sessions and Rosenstein and get a AG who isn't recused, and who can prosecute.
Do it Trey! we will wait—But not hold our breath.
Sad that we pay the salaries of so many self-interest only critters and that you or I are only able to name a “handful” of good guys.
I think what I am so annoyed about is that these hearings should raise eyebrows and embarrass the people who enable the lawlessness, but it doesn’t seem to make a dent or make any of them to demand real investigations, the kind with teeth.
Thanks. Good to see a voice of reason and sanity.
Yup. He has a style for all 52 weeks.
He serves a purpose by modeling his latest weekly hair style, and airing the truth about the Swamp to the public and some of those in Congress.
People don't seem to appreciate that we know quite a bit about what Comey, Lynch, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, McCabe, Ohr, Strzok, Paige, Simpson, Steele, and others were doing during the election cycle.
It takes time to nail down a conspiracy as broad as this one and it is happening. The Watergate burglary was committed on June 17th, 1972. Nixon resigned on August 8th, 1974. That's more than two years. We don't even have our "John Dean" yet; that is, somebody who played a central role and decides not to take the fall by himself.
In this highly technological era, somebody at some time has probably recorded some key conversations. Won't that be fun?
