Brown lies awake nights dreaming up strategies to part the people in California from their money. One year it was demanding country dwellers put in new septic tanks, but that failed. I lived in an outlying area (manned by firefighters who were lessin less than 3 miles from a state firehouse, and less than one block from a volunteer fire department at a recreation site) but was charged an additional $150 per year for fire services because of my location. Jarvis brought suit but the state delayed responses so the suit was denied due to time lapses and the illegal double taxation has not been repaid.[(Jarvis is appealing). I just moved to a new house in June and never received a new tax bill, but did write and ask where it was so was told they were 30,000 people behind who would not receive a tax bill, but would be charged a 10% penalty over and above their tax amount if they had not inquired and paid it on time (luckily I was one of that group). I’m sure he’ll be delighting in all the extra money the state will receive from new buyers that didn’t wonder where their tax bill was this year and may think there will be no penalty since they never received a tax bill. If you intend to live in California, be sure to be a welfare recipient otherwise you will be taxed to death.
And don’t forget the huge amount he has now added to car registration fees, and the 9 cents extra per gallon to gas.
