Back in my day we had obscene Jody calls and stripper shows for happy hour at the Club. Now, I've heard they don't even have Clubs.

Not saying we should go back to all that, but, oh boy, things have sure changed.

Army Chief of Staff, General John A. Wickham Jr., (CoS from 1983 to 1987) was responsible for the ending of the Army officer, NCO and enlisted club system. His idea of ‘improving’ the Army was to eliminate booze and cigarettes/cigars from it. Thus he began reducing the funding of the club system and turning them into “family recreational centers” which that Army already had.
