No woman to nag him into seeing the doctor. So instead of going to the ER for chest pain, he takes antacids. That and a man is far less likely to ask for help from friends and relatives.
My sister-in-law who was divorced with two kids, the father then died shortly after under unusual circumstances, so no help from him.
She never had a problem asking for help with almost anything. Something your typical man would never do.
