Just viewed a 16 year old twit who thinks the solution is a gun control law from the gov’t. When I hear this, I raise my hand and ask: “If you can legislate a legal solution to morals and sanity, why did Prohibition fail, why is there an opioid crisis, and why do people still commit murder?”
There was a series of problems including, first, the school district who took it upon themselves to be judge and jury. In order to “soften” the school-to-jail pathway for junior criminals, they ordered that referrals to LEOs be eliminated.
The solution which liberals seek when it comes to “gun control”, would be similar to what countries such as Cuba and Venezuela and China and N. Korea have.
People in those countries don’t go around shooting each other up.
So, the solution would end up being to create a dictatorial regime, where only the government has guns.
In essence, what the liberals ultimately are after, is the eventual repeal of the 2nd amendment, which means taking away the people’s right to bear arms.
Starting in the 1960s we have totally dismantled “involuntary commitment” laws. That means it is much harder to institutionalize anyone who indicates dangerous behavior. Now we mainstream them and treat them with anti physcotic drugs. The result is there are more potentially dangerous people, like this mass murder in Fl, who neither the Mental Health system nor Law Enforcement can deal with.
There were more then enough warning signs to in this murder’s background to warrant him being in front of a judge for a mental competency hearing. Instead we don’t “Want to ostracize him” so our system lets him run around loose UNTIL he committed a sufficiently violent crime to get himself locked up.
As long as the Political/Media class keep using dead children to push a failed 1960s political agenda on guns, instead of addressing the real problems, this will continue.
