I believe his actions to be a direct result of his training. His decision to place himself between evil and innocents is in the finest traditions of the American Military. I SEE NO WATERING DOWN OF THOSE TRADITIONS IN THIS HONOR.
Yes they were. Problem is he wasn’t a member of the armed forces. He didn’t go through any of the services recruit training, or OCS. He simply doesn’t rate a military funeral. His JROTC unit can and should give him a ceremony.
