Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader, voted “No” for a judicial nominee based on one thing only…His skin color. In a nation that has allegedly moved past judging people by the color of the skin, Schumer’s actions show that the Democrat party under his leadership is still the party of racism and identity politics.
Why no calls of “racist!” or demanding that he step down? Because this particular prejudice was directed against an eminently qualified man who just happens to be white.
Marvin Quattlebaum was, nonetheless, voted in 69 to 29 to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. So evidently, the majority of Senators seemed to think his skin color was not a hindrance to the job. What was behind Schumer’s ridiculous position?

Whatever happened to those little taboos that are listed somewhere, I forget where, like, cannot discriminate for employment a person’s race, religion, age, proximity to indoor plumbing, etc....
Unless the minority (tee-hee) leader doesn’t realize that “white” is a race?
am sick of the racism..
When will Schumcky be speaking out on the great over-representation of Jews on the SCOTUS. A group that is 2% of the US population has 1/3 of SCOTUS seats? Come on Schumcky, it you’re concerned about over or under-representation of particular goups in the court system, there is the situation you should be speaking out about and trying to correct with your vote on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Not holding my breath.

Because the republicans in Congress are wimps. We need a new party that’s not infested with wimps.

I’m pretty sure Congress always exempts itself from those pesky laws that cause more harm than good at much greater expense than was claimed by the proponents.
