Hello all. I saw this (below) on the intertubes ... can any of you masters of DC intrigue tell us whether or not this is accurate? I am pasting it exactly as I found it.

It’s not an official ‘Federal Budget’. It’s an Omnibus bill…not a Budget…He outsmarted them again…Congress basically screwed themselves by not passing a Budget…
Per the Constitution…the President must adhere to a Budget set forth by Congress and direct the expenditures as provided therein.
This is another one of those big Porkulus Bills, like they gave Obama for 8 years. This is not a Budget..
An Omnibus Spending Bill may have some ‘instructions’ as to how the money will be spent…but Obama ignored them.
He spent the money, or didn’t spend it, however he wanted to.
And Congress didn’t do a thing about it! Because they couldn’t..
I think our President observed how this happened, year after year.
He is bound to realize that those ‘appropriations’ for different things in these Omnibus bills…are merely ‘suggestions’.
So like Obama, Pres Trump can spend this money on whatever he wants to.
Or…not spend it.
Planned Parenthood?
What if our President decided to tell the Treas Dept to ‘slow-walk’ that money to Planned Parenthood…until the Senate gets off their ass and confirms his appointees?
Sanctuary Cities?
What if our President decided to ‘slow-walk’ that money too…until those Sanctuary Cities assist ICE in rounding up criminal illegal aliens?
Splodey heads? From the Dems and the Enemedia?

Our President could just say…’What! Congress should’ve passed a Budget.’
done finished…research was done…and it is so very humorous actually….our VSG..just said just give me money for the military and the wall…put anything else you want in it…and those goofballs did.
In this case, as per above….he doesn’t have to spend a dime….because it is not a budget…and even if it was…researched….he could still spend as he please… Congress appropriates….up to the President to spend it…or not….as he pleases..
If anyone disagrees, I can go back and get the links and evidence, but if you just read yesterdays political thread…Wheatietoo and I laid it all out for all…Wheatietoo did most of the work and put together the consolidated update as per above….
Again, that is why Obama never had a Budget in his Presidency…Congress did continual Omibus’s and he just took the money….for 8 years…and no one seems to know where it went…
It’s a silver lining, and probably the only reason that he bit the bullet and signed it.
Getting his veto overridden would hurt MAGA more than signing the damn thing.
The only sign that someone is pro-constitution is that they support arming every US Citizen.
Those who do not do not understand the first thing about the constitution.
Another New Yorker screwed us over because he thinks he’s better than anyone else.
Just keep those justices coming and everything will be ok. We’re about to start off WWIII and nothing else matters anyway. As long as we’re armed and have support gear and supplies.

I was wondering about this. A budget (or omnibus deal) sets ceilings. In my years of management, I had budgets but I could ask (demand) that some pieces of the business cut back expenditures as appropriate to the running of the business. No reason why those items that are under Trump’s control couldn’t be reduced, postponed or eliminated. Right?

During the press conference, he said something about that there was X number of dollars for discretionary defense spending. Couldn’t he declare that the Wall is a defense project, and spend the money to fully fund the wall?
Perhaps, especially when the unrest and border war really starts, Americans will more strongly demand the wall.
But, that was also lawless Obama, the untouchable black skinned messiah so.....
What I heard on Fox was SecDef Mattis called Trump early this morning and told him if you want me to be able to win wars we must have this money. That’s why he signed it. Trump can’t face down our enemies with an empty holster.

I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.
Praying for President Trump. We all know what he is up against. I cannot help but believe he did what he had to do. There is no way McConnell and Ryan will ever get any support from me. All I can see is backbiting traitors.

IF it is defined by Congress as an omnibus bill, DJT has the last say on releasing the monies. THAT is winning which the demoncrats will now squeal over when DJT uses the funding as leverage. MAGA
I heard Rush talk about a budget. We have not had a budget in over eight year before now. That is why we have continuing resolutions.
