This is a “Read my lips, no new taxes” moment.

A lot of us Trump supporters are going “ EH”, it really doesn’t matter who’s in power, we’re screwed.
If the bombastic, rebel Donald Trump can’t live up to his promises no one can.
What’s the point. Might as well sleep late the first Tuesday after the first Monday in Novenber in even number years.

FR has been plagued with fair weather followers before. The same is true today. Of course, damaged folks will always assume the worst of others due to their wounds never healing.

Seriously. Take a course in civics. . In Congress, a spending bill spanning multiple budget areas is known as an “omnibus.”

But he did sell himself as some Master-Negotiator.

If he could not handle the challenges of the job, he should not have applied.

I expected more. I’m disappointed.

LOL. Don’t be naive. Trump didn’t expect to be abandoned and undermined by his own party when he ran for POTUS. He’s in an impossible situation and not superman.

Right now we need to help keep Congress out of Dems control and prepare for a GOP Civil War after the midterms. Trump has never quit on us. We can’t either.

“it’s 3-D chess!( we are never getting a wall )”

We don’t need a wall if everyone in the US had a gun. If we had states reciprocity there would be a virtual wall around each of us, our families and our kids.

And all that took was a simple EO. Not billions of dollars. Just a damned signature.

This guy is having a hard time and he’s doing a really, really good job of being our president. I would vote for him again, and I would lay down my life for him to continue what he’s doing.

But he occasionally doesn’t do what we elected him to do.

A normal politician RARELY does what they promised to do, and Trump rarely does not do what he promised to do. I still like him but he needs.. NEEDS to expand gun ownership.

Many Trump voters now won’t get out and vote in November. Why would they? They (rightly or wrongly) are concluding that it doesn’t much matter whom you vote for. The Dems will probably regain Congress and then Trump will go full-bore Democrat to protect a legacy.

Yes, it was impossible. He should have, could have vetoed the omnibus. Yes, Congress would have over ridden his veto but the anger would have been correctly targeted on Congress. (which would have helped somewhat in 2018). Now everyone’s mad at Trump. He should have taken a stand.

Maybe he wants a Dem congress in 2018? Hmmmm.

I don’t think of it as “fair weather friends”. I think of it as holding elected officials accountable.

Free Republic posters defended Bush so much it became an embarrassment. Many fine people were banned because they dared question Bush. I hope that doesn’t happen with Trump. He promised things to his supporters. Now it “looks like” he’s backing down on DACA and the 2nd Amendment. If we don’t hold him accountable, we’re no different than the Obama-worshippers.

our fed govt is irreparably corrupt and illegitimate.

It is time for a radical Congressectomy to remove the cancer to save the patient.

Wrong. You couldn’t be more wrong. Trump would have vetoed that garbage bill if he thought he could blame the Dems like he did on DACA. Obviously, he couldn’t. We would have had a month of GOP Civil War that would have only ended when the Democrats agreed to pass a bill. There was no happy ending here. The GOP has abanded a POTUS of their own party.

A veto would have been spun as “GOP dysfunction”. GOP POTUS vetoes GOP Congress = “GOP unable to govern.”

Buy a clue before it’s too late, FRiend. Flake and Schumer are playing you like a fiddle and are laughing at your naivety

“We are conservatives, we are not blind followers”

Might be true for thee and me, but if you’ve been reading FR for the past two years, you know it is not “we.”

After 8 years of Obama, they forgot the Constitution actually means something.

**************

Have you not noticed that our rulers in Washington do whatever they want? They routinely manipulate, lie, distort and pervert to justify their legislative and administrative power grabs. They don’t give a damn about the Constitution, and neither does our politicized court system.

I don’t know what’s worse the sycophants on Twitter who believe Trump can do no wrong, or those looking for 4-D chess moves at every go. Trump was never going to give those of us on the right most of what we wanted, but remember what our choice was: Hillary.

*************

To replace the old liars with new liars. Seriously, no one seems to be willing or able to stand up to the corruption and irresponsibility that pervades our government.

Nothing is going to change until our ballooning debt (over $21 TRILLION and rising rapidly) reaches an unsustainable point due to investors no longer being willing to buy the bonds of a profligate and financially reckless government. The government’s only choice then will be to print massive amounts of money to prop up the system which will cause skyrocketing inflation and economic chaos.

Things only change when they have to. When there is no other alternative.

And I believe that you are wrong. We’ll know which one of us is right in November. And to be clear, I hope you are right, but, sadly, you aren’t.
