Historically, California has always attracted dreamers and today one of the state’s biggest dreamers is Governor Jerry Brown, who once said, “A politician can do anything he wants so long as he manipulates the right symbols.” More likely, a new education initiative of his is about to collide with reality.

Another golden shower on California.
You should have included something in the excerpt about the subject of the article.
In short, the article describes an educational scheme to make community more accessible. In reality, the scheme is more likely to turn state community colleges into degree mills.
Simply posting an excerpt criticizing Brown without any context is not informative.
Wealth transfer from normal Californians to the elite.
Set up an agency with no real goals, and no way to measure if they reached those goals even if they had them. Fund with a few hundred million taxpayer dollars and allow it to grow out of control.
Use funds to reward those you like and withhold funds from those you dislike.
All in the name of the children.
This is just another Democrat slush fund.

The unfortunate part of Brown staying in as governor is many of the somewhat “conservatives” have left, or are leaving Kalifornika. Worse, many of those thus bringing their “baggage” along with them to other states, hoping to change the laws in their new locations. Look what happened to Colorado, Utah, Oregon and Washington and soon to be Montana. As they migrate east they want what the left behind and getting it via voting they eventually corrupt their new homes. Exactly why I left Colorado a good while back.
