Yes, prayer is a necessity.

But, you know what I like to do? I have only done it a couple of times. When the weather in the Dallas area is questionable and we have lots of straight line winds (but no tornadoes in sight) I like to watch "Twister." Talk about surround sound. People think I'm nuts but I'm not. My mother had me tested.

LOL that was one of my mother’s favorite movies. I’m going to make a confession here. I vowed never to move below the Mason-Dixon line, never move to where it’s humid (I love the cold and snow), and I always had nightmares about twisters (Wizard of Oz?), until I moved to MO. I learned to be cool in 105* without a.c. (fans and soaked my head), love country people (they have the same heart no matter what state), and I love to watch the storms (and front porches). When the radar says duck and cover, I do. God taught me a great lesson. Never be afraid to go where you THINK it will be horrible.

One afternoon in MO storm warnings were out and my radar said very soon. Some teens were playing out front of my house in the building wind. I went out and told them the storm was coming and they actually went inside. Minutes later the rain hit and then whoosh, a straight line 80 mph wind hit our block. Lots of big trees were down and the one in their front yard fell. That was my only straight line wind. No other streets were effected.

The really cool part about Spfld MO is it is on a plateau. Many storms go around it and the photos of the thunderheads are magnificent. I do miss that a LOT. I also miss the weird light before and after a big storm. Now after watching the documentaries on Joplin and others I’m in the mood to watch twister. thanks a lot!

You are welcome. You will feel as though you are right in the movie.

Watch out for them flying cows!

I was at the BF Goodrich plant in Louisville, KY. Scary situation. Six tornadoes in L’ville.
