Skip to comments.Tim Kaine: Trump Is "Clearly Panicked" About Mueller Probe

On Tuesday's 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine warned that Democrats would view any attempt by the president to fire Robert Mueller or signal plans to issue pardons "as the president pushing the nation into a constitutional crisis."
BRZEZINSKI: So the president calls this a witch hunt. He says they didn't find anything. And he really was quite defensive yesterday about -- that this was a sad situation and he's not sure whether or not Mueller will be fired. Are you concerned that this investigation could be thwarted?
KAINE: Yes. I think the president is clearly panicked. That became very obvious to me really beginning about the time of the State of the Union. He's been more and more panicked by Mueller's work and Mueller's not going to stop, nor should he. Congress needs to make very plain that the Mueller investigation will be protected. And whether it's an attempt to fire Mueller or pre-emptively pardon folks, we would view that as the president pushing the nation into a constitutional crisis and we would need to respond as the Article I branch to make sure that we protect the country.

After more than a year long 'investigation', there is simply no evidence they can found that would be credible defensible charges when they 'indict' Trump.
The over-reaching scope of the investigation tells Americans one thing - they are grasping at any straws now.
The only thing Trump is guilty of is ordering his steak well done.
“Democrats would view any attempt by the president to fire Robert Mueller or signal plans to issue pardons “as the president pushing the nation into a constitutional crisis.”
You want to see a crisis? Try impeaching Trump over some process BS.
This clown, a Senator and VP candidate, hopefully knows that what he's saying is utter BS. The constituion gives CONGRESS the responsibility to hold accountable the Executive Branch and the President in particular. This is why impeachment is in the constitution and it's not a power given to the executive branch to self-investigate. If congress wants to investigate the President, have at it. Impeach if you can and want to. But Trump has no requirement to have secret investigations by HIS OWN STAFF. Mueller works for the DOJ, who work for Trump.
Tim Kaine ranks right up there with Joe Biden as one of the dumbest human beings on the face of God’s earth.
If I were Tim Kaine I would prepare myself for my Senate seat loss this coming November, 2018.
Thwarted? Hahahah...This “investigation” is the only crime here. Grab your weapons and stand apost. The country will need to be defended before Trump is out of office. Don’t be cowards. Ready up!
Angry more than panicked. I think the deep state have picked the wrong fight.
Blanket pardons! Hahahah. Constitutional crisis? The country is run by corrupted criminals and liars. THAT is the crisis!
And putting ketchup on it too!
Yes. Trump is GUILTY of being CONSERVATIVE.
panicked - no. angered by the wrong doing of Mueller and all- likely yes. Tim Kaine doesn’t seem to have brain cells connecting to understand the difference.
I thought you’d be panicked over your sissy son, angry because the old man got his butt kicked in the election, throwing fireworks at Trump supporters, Kaine.
Tim Kaine - Dispatches from Palookaville, where everyone coulda been a contender.
How do clearly effeminate men such as Kaine ever get elected?
... and using Russian salad dressing ...
The only people who are panicked is the Deep State and the left. Round up time is getting closer.
I think that Al Gore is pretty dumb.
They pick these guys for VP deliberately.
OTOH, I think that Democrats and their voters are universally stupid or evil. Not much in between.
Kaine's legacy is that of a VP candidate for the biggest 2-time loser in politics, Hillary Clinton.
Tim "Jazz Hands" Kaine is the Dem version of a Marlboro Man.
He will retaliate, destroy the other side and win again.
My money is still on Trump in this fight.
