I don't resent the management for it though even though we aren't always told the reason; when we are told, it makes sense.
I honestly haven’t been keeping up on the flat-earth stuff at all. I remember something about Kyrie Irving quite a while back. I can’t even imagine the mental contortions they would have to go through to explain how something like the ISS if it wasn’t orbiting the globe. Or do they propose the earth is flat but the moon and satellites orbit a slab? Someone fill me in on this stuff
Of course. As an amateur radio operator who has had communication with the ISS on multiple occasions, I find that its orbit precisely corresponds to the two-line orbital elements that NASA/SpaceCom puts out.
Well done. I thought this was going to be "The ISS is really not in orbit!" thread. No, you're bringing scientific fact. As a Christian, I believe that all truth is God's truth. In fact, a careful reading of the book of Isaiah and Psalms indicates that Earth is a spherical planet not supported by any substance.

I have a friend that is an actual ‘rocket scientist’(NASA) and I asked him about the ‘flat earth’ folks.
He just snickered and said “It is like putting mittens on an autistic 7 year old and then giving them an ice cream cone and a puppy, fun to watch and no body gets hurt.”
Ham radio people use the moon to bounce signals to places on earth below the horizon. It’s called EME, for Earth-Moon-Earth bounce.
We can bounce signals off of buildings to get around other buildings using directional antennas too. We can use mountains, whatever.

All one needs to do is discuss great circle navigation around the southern hemisphere of our world.
The flat-earthers have an answer for every piece of scientific evidence except this one.

Such flights are impossible with a flat earth because the destinations are beyond the range of a 747-400.
The only way such flights are possible is via great circle navigation and great circle navigation is only possible with a global earth.
