The special prosecutor procedure under which Mueller was appointed is only a DOJ written procedure, is not from law legislated by Congress. It amounts to the DOJ investigating itself and the units that report to it, like the FBI. It is not “independent” of the DOJ, as all the instructions (continuing) from Rosenstein have demonstrated.
The DOJ “internalized” the current special prosecutor procedure the could control it.
Given the collusion between the DOJ/FBI and the Clinton campaign in the 2016 election, and even after it concluded, the DOJ/FBI are the last folks to trust with investigating anything about the 2016 election.
If Congress wanted again to legislate a special prosecutor law, it has had that ability any time, and could have done so in this case. They didn’t, and stupid Sessions did not ask them to.
Yes, Mueller should be fired, because the DOJ/FBI cannot be counted on to investigate themselves, when it comes to any matters relative to the 2016 election.
