Funny thing My Russian rifles are chambered for .308 Winchester, well that’s odd enough, but you can shoot Nato .308b in them all day long, Now here is the rub.... I have Nato .308 rifles that I would never put .308

Yup the civilian stuff is MORE powerful than the military grade stuff
With 5.56x49 and .223 its the other way around.
Both ammos will work but the military stuff runs at a higher pressure.
Sometimes I think they try to keep things confusing, but the legacy of the Kalishnakov is its simplicity
I like the Makarov pistol too, SO simple... So effective, So accurate! the KGB used it for 64 years!
I carry a S&W MP shield now, but the Makarov is a good pistol
