Gotta love the Moss 500 - I haven’t shot mine yet but it went on sale and I was in the store (Black Friday) for something else a few years ago.

Been looking at them for 4-6 months; almost paid about $30 more because I wanted to get it done.

Mine are old. The 20ga goes back to the 70’s the 12 goes back to the 90’s. I got short (18”) barrels for both recently for about $90 a piece. A great reliable machine. Cop shops been using them for years along with the Rem 870’s. Enjoy. 4buck is good for defense at home. Be safe.

I own 2 visually identical Mossburg 500s, one purchased in 1975 at a garage sale for $75 and a second one purchased in 1980, also at a garage sale for $100.
According to the serial numbers, they were manufactured 10 years apart.
The newer one will bruise my shoulder with every shot; the older one has less kick that my Ruger 10/22. The only physical difference that I can see is the color of the wood stock. The one with the darker wood kicks and the one with the lighter color wood does not.
I do like these shotguns and would not trade them for anything.
