ADMIRAL CUOMO PREPARES FOR WAR
Powerline ^ | 6 May 2018 | Adam Mirengoff

Is truth stranger than fiction? Usually not, if the author of fiction tries to write something strange. However, the second paragraph of this report by my conservative cousin from New York is both true and stranger than fiction:

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has apparently become unhinged by the primary challenge from the Left of “Sex and the City” co-star Cynthia Nixon. In an effort to get to the Left of Nixon, Cuomo has descended into a bizarre fantasy world.

To stop the Interior Department’s approval of offshore drilling, he vows “to commission a citizen fleet from throughout the state to go out and interfere with their federal [drilling] effort just as Winston Churchill did in Dunkirk…If you think I’m kidding, I’m not and I’m going to lead that citizen fleet.”

Perhaps a Staten Island Ferry can be commandeered to serve as a fleet command vessel for Admiral Cuomo’s strike force. . . .

Striking a macho pose the Governor informs us that he’s “a big tough Italian guy.” He claims to have demonstrated this fact by shoveling 600 lbs. of snow in an hour. I can think of something else he’s shoveling and it smells a lot worse than snow. Moreover, isn’t that kind of rhetoric what the Left labels as “toxic masculinity” when Donald Trump brags about his physical fitness?

In the real world times are tough for many New Yorkers The poverty rate is 18.5%, well above the national average of 11.3%. The Governor’s ban on fracking and support for the recently enacted $15/hour minimum wage are job killers that target people seeking to rise out of poverty. Cuomo has squandered billions in phony job development that enriched his supporters and offered few opportunities for residents of depressed areas Upstate.

He's just a re-run of his old man. He destroyed jobs in New York State too.

As Bob Grant would say, Andrew Coomoe (just like his father) is a sfaccimm.

Cuomo likes to think of himself as some type of Godfather, but what he really is, is the “the men’s room attendant”.

Cuomo’s lead has shrunk dramatically from 47% to 22% in just 2 months. It may stabilize. Or it may not.

And according to a Quinnipiac Poll released Wednesday, Cuomo leads Nixon 50-28 among enrolled Democrats. That 22-point lead is down from a 31-point advantage in a Siena poll conducted in April. A Marist poll conducted in April and a Siena poll in March both found Cuomo with a 47-point advantage.

He claims to have demonstrated this fact by shoveling 600 lbs. of snow in an hour.

Let's assume that each shovel full is 15 lb.s. That's 40 shovel fulls per hour or 1 and 1/2 minutes to toss each scoop.

As a 63 yr old cigarette-smoking couch potato I am not impressed.

On the Demagogic Party side of the primary, the choice is between the gangland caricature and an entertainment industry nitwit. Thanks RummyFan.

"just as Winston Churchill did in Dunkirk"

Hitler was on the verge of putting all his panzer units to work drilling for oil in the English Channel, but good ol' Winston Churchill sure put a stop to that!

As an American of Italian ancestry, I’m embarrassed by this horse’s ass pretending to be a governor.

As an American of Italian ancestry, I’m embarrassed by this horse’s ass pretending to be a governor.

OT, but funny story from earlier today.

I was sitting in traffic waiting for the light to change. I was behind a big pickup, like a Silverado, with a tinted rear cab window. I wasn't paying any particular attention, but a sudden movement inside the cab caught my eye. As I focused on that window, it looked like the driver was making very energetic gestures; I couldn't tell if there was a passenger.

I was thinking "I wonder what would have gone through the mind of a police officer if he was sitting where I am."

Just then the light turned green, and we began to drive forward. I let him drift away from me to open up some space, and as he did I noticed a little green-white-red medallion mounted low down on the left side of his rear bumper. Not a bumper sticker, more like a little plastic medallion, maybe one inch by three. I began to think... green-white-red, isn't that...?

And then I smiled, and everything made sense. As he moved off in front of me, I saw his left hand fly out the window as he continued to make whatever point he was making.

LOL! I’ve been known to make those energetic gestures, too.
