Mowing down school kids, concertgoers and other innocent people is a quintessentially American homicidal tradition that annually devours more lives than terrorism. For many of the sick, angry assailants, the weapon of choice is a military-style, semi-automatic assault rifle, purchased over the counter and made in Germany, where such assault-type weapons are banned for civilian use.
German gunmakers Heckler & Koch and Sig Sauer are major suppliers of semi-automatic assault rifles designed to rapidly fire ammunition that can kill or maim people. While their primary customers for these guns are armies, the firms have also tapped into lucrative markets in the civilian sector, especially in gun-obsessed America.

They had the pride beaten out of them, and their politicians reinforce why they should have no pride. My FIL’s eyes lit up whenever we had the opportunity to speak - he greatly admired our system and our Constitution.
Not from my point of view - and I’ve lived/worked in Germany. Would you mind providing a bit more detail on what you mean?
The pride beaten out of them yes....but not the smugness or the arrogance.
and for the record I am part German, I was raised with the language, I have German relatives and I’ve lived in Germany twice. Individually they are great. Collectively they are a disaster.
Knowing my sister-in-law and her husband, I’d have to politely disagree. In their case, individually, they’re a complete disaster. Hard to believe they’re from the same line as my wife. I wouldn’t lift a finger to help them.
