Just curious. You are British, yes? I haven’t watched the coverage, just DVR’d it. My husband is out of the country and we will watch it when he gets home (nice to be able to fast forward, too). Most of my Lib friends are ecstatic about the sermon from the American pastor. From the snippets I have heard, it sounds a bit like an ‘ugly American’ almost ‘in your face’type of sermon. If so, I am so sorry for the Queen that she had to be a part of it. American Leftists simply cannot stop injecting politics into EVERYTHING. It is tiresome. My question is: what do you think the Queen thought of it? My husband and I do not talk politics. I am more Conservative than he is and not talking politics is a good thing around our house.

No, I’m not British, sorry. I’m from New York which is not the same thing, lol.

I didn’t hear the sermon so I can’t even begin to answer your question. At this point in Elizabeth’s life, I’m sure she has heard everything. Remember the wonderful Arab aphorism: The dogs bark, the caravan moves on. I think Elizabeth and the royals will move on despite what some dopey American preacher says at Windsor. Remember that Charles Spencer, at the funeral of Diana, tore the royals a new one in an explosive speech that people predicted would bring down the family. (It was a pretty good speech!) The Queen shrugged and again, the caravan moved on. This is why I admire that lady. She moves on.

The clergy who preached is the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church. I did not hear today’s lecture, I mean sermon, but I have heard him preach in person when he was Bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina. He is billed as an evangelical and his preaching style reflects that in enthusiasm and form, but it ends there. He is a liberal, through and through.
