If one looks at the coverage of Trump during the primaries it was very nice. The DNC and the media, they are one and the same, saw Trump as the weakest candidate to run against Hillary. They helped him anyway they could. The media gave the nomination to Trump. They were very pleased with their actions.
After the nomination of Trump they went after him like a pack of rabid wolves. About the end of September to their horror they realized they gave the nomination to one of the few Republicans that could defeat Hillary.

Gret analogy. I agree with it. Trump was lambasted for all of his free air time by his repub opponents. He still gets it now, but it is 100% negative.
