There is another factor in play, and we see that in spades in the UK. A lack of belief in the right to personal self-defense. And a secondary belief that the average citizen is too stupid to use guns in a responsible and safe manner. And the secondary belief fits into the elitist liberal mindset that they know better about how an average citizen should conduct their affairs.

I would be willing to bet they believe it is only evil America which is the only nation with a 2A in it's Constitution. IMHO there is going to be more screaming in the near future to have 2A repealed. Since it was a "right" given to me by my creator, at that point I choose to become a criminal.
