I believe the horror stories about the Middle East. Think back to the Yezidi disaster at Mt. Sindjar. It was so bad that even the pro-ISIS Obama felt compelled to do something, lest the American populace at large noticed that it was the logical end of the activities he’d encouraged.
It was just this one item that seemed so absurd... the barbarity and backwardness of the women’s situation aired on a TV women’s self-help-discussion show. T
I’m close to some there. One is particular I have tried to help for 4+ years. Have found them totally honest.
The Kurd women are not like the rest of the ME. (the Jewish women are good fighters also) They stood off ISIS in Kobane in Sept/Oct of 2014 with almost all women fighters. Knowing what ISIS would do to them made them fierce soldiers. I admire their bravery.
Many many have been killed, buy the are fighting to be free of this. We truly must help them. (I don’t want US to be there, but this is a right cause to fight)
