Any current employee accused of wrongdoing by the IG is given an opportunity to respond and offer exculpatory evidence before these reports are made public.

As a matter of practice, the IG does give the subject parties the opportunity to reply to its findings. That is standard procedure in my experience.

It is standard practice within all federal departments. It’s a law.
