Everyone should be flexible and willing to bend, as life requires growth and change. President Trump surprised everyone at the G7 Summit in Canada by suggesting a radical change to the International trading system. He suggested that all tariffs, trade barriers, and Industrial subsidies should be dropped in order to facilitate free trade.

“No tariffs, no barriers, that’s the way it should be,” Trump said. “And no subsides, I even said not tariffs.”

Of course, it shocked everyone, as this comes after Trump decided to impose large tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union, Canada, and Mexico. Shortly following, he hit the rest of the world with the same tariffs.

To repeat:

all tariffs, trade barriers, and Industrial subsidies should be dropped in order to facilitate free trade. “No tariffs, no barriers, that’s the way it should be,” Trump said. “And no subsides, I even said not tariffs.”

He only out the tariffs because they put up huge tariffs on American goods, he is just trying for an even field.

No tariffs would also create an even field.

President Trump thinks WAY ahead. IMO he imposed those tariffs just so everyone would see what would happen. NOW to see what would happen if they were gone.

This is refreshing. Kinda like when people treat ya like crap and you decide they are not going to do that anymore and ya don't back down. They get upset cuz they can't succeed in getting yer goat.

GO TRUMP!!

He said it because it will not work. He’s playing chess again.

It’s like gun control, the rogue element will always have guns while the good guys give theirs up. With his free trade ideas, the good guys will follow a no tariff, no barrier, no subsidy plan, while the rogues simply will not.

His level of thinking is way beyond the typical politician, MSM reporter or dem voter.

He’s playing the game in a slightly different way. Keep them off balance. Play croquet with a hockey stick.

But the global order is united in their determination that fair trade means we all punish the US while they show their gratitude by paying for our defense and paying our UN bills. Why should one loan dissenting voice change the nearly unanimous view of the rest of the world.

what is telling is how the FakeNewsMSM almost never mentions the EU, Canadian, Chinese and other tariffs on the US etc.

“You have to ask President Obama, because he was the one who let Crimea get away,” he told reporters before leaving Canada for his meeting in Singapore with North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un. “That was in his administration.”

Gosh damn I LOVE THIS GUY!!!

Do you know how this madman upset the world. Can you comprehend how many bureaucrats and how many lobbyists in how many capitals burned the oil the 3 AM writing position papers denouncing American protectionism and justifying the position that so and so would cut the import duty on codfish by .62375 % each year for 3 years in exchange for a 2.63% per year for 5 year reduction in the wholly unjustified, discriminatory unfair and racist American tariff on importing specialty transformer steel.

And foosh, Trump lit a match to all of that REALLY HARD WORK by our trading partners just trying to restore some dignity to their lives. And now he wants to disrupt the whole delicate balance that has been negotiated by a. putting them all in a really bad position and then b. proposing really free trade.
