‘This is the new Republican Party’ (Politico laments)

The final GOP holdouts to Donald Trump whimper into oblivion.

Put a blond combover on the elephant. Take down the pictures of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.

It’s over. It’s Donald Trump’s GOP.

The anti-Trump candidates are fleeing, and the ones who stick around are getting trampled. The chill has gone out among whoever’s left: there’s no more speaking up, and if there is, it’s just for the sake of a speech, a protest quote that quickly disappears.

They chalk it up to party loyalty, or staying unified for the midterms. They say they still believe in the principles, but they don’t tend to do more than say the words. Then, when the microphones are off, they confide. They complain. They nurse fantasies that there’s a reckoning coming, that maybe this will all end with the Republican Party nominating someone like Eisenhower. Or at least like Paul Ryan.

And each time they watch another of their own go down, they wince, try to move on. Don’t look back. Try to forget.

Oh, they loved it when the republican party was convinced it could only win by nominating moderates across the board...who went down to defeat...across the board!

And when the republicans retain control of the House, with Paul Ryan and all the Boehner boys gone, and more headaches for Mitch McConnell in the Senate (and McCain dead), there will be even more screams from the Oligarchy.

The RINOs are leaving, and Politico is upset. Boohoo. Meanwhile, ordinary people are getting a party that better resembles the one they keep voting for.

At this rate, I might start donating to the RNC again.

The whole premise of the article is so alien to me. We’re talking alternate realities. It’s his party because of the destruction wrought by globalism. But politico wishes for a time when the GOP presidential candidates grabbed their ankles.

You can look over the two parties and say that neither resemble what they were in the 1970s or prior. By the end of the 1980s...the GOP had started down some path with a lot of fake talk....the Democrats had done basically the same thing. Both are firmly attached to lobbyists and global idealists.

The Left is scared that a new GOP is forming, which won’t run away when a Democrat screams Racism.

Other 'outsider' billionaires exist, but there is only one DJT. The GOP may once again become squishy centrists - Trump doesn't represent the Party per se, he represents American exceptionalism. We are blessed to have him!

Worst of all, instead of losing graciously, the Trump GOP fight to win, even if it means winning ugly.

The Left hates Reagan. Now they think he’s anti-Trump like them? They don’t know up from down.

You have to fight in the gutter, because that’s where the democrats are.

A article full of straw man arguments.

Boils down to we like a weak President willing to go along to get along without regard to the harm done to our citizens.

President Trump scares them because as some else posted, you do not need to be afraid of being called “racists” or “bigot” or any of the other derogatory terms the left uses to silence their opponents.

He also scares them because he has exposed the lies that both parties have been pushing for years.

It was just a few years ago we were told that you could not drill your way out of dependent on foreign oil, or that high unemployment was the new norm, or that the economy would never again rise higher then 1% and so on. All lies meant to control the people.

President Trump in one year has shown that lower taxes and deregulation will boast the economy. He did it without having to suck trillions of dollars out of the economy (for shovel ready projects.)

Getting out of the Paris according and the Iran deal also helps Americans.

Standing up to the G7 is good for Americans when trade between us and other nations is fair to both sides.

The end of NAFTA will also be good for America

The control of borders will also be good for America.

So they hate him because he does what is good for America not for them and their friends that get rich off the chaos.

(Now if he would only get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US I would be a happy camper)

Actually if you read the pre - WWII non globalist Republican Party platform, President Trump is returning the Republican Party to it's true Conservative roots.
The Tariff

We reaffirm our belief in the protective tariff to extend needed protection to our productive industries. We believe in protection as a national policy, with due and equal regard to all sections and to all classes. It is only by adherence to such a policy that the well being of the consumers can be safeguarded that there can be assured to American agriculture, to American labor and to American manufacturers a return to perpetrate American standards of life. A protective tariff is designed to support the high American economic level of life for the average family and to prevent a lowering to the levels of economic life prevailing in other lands.

This is good news.

It means the MSM is conceding that being anti-Trump is not a winning strategy.

Why would supporting Trump be inconsistent with support of Lincoln and Reagan?

WRONG, FOOLS!

The Anti-Slavery Party--the Party of Lincoln, Reagan, and Trump--carries the American Dream on through the 21st century!

Meanwhile the Democrat Party continues its ignominious gutter level tradition from Slavery, Jim Crow, Racism, and the Ku Klux Klan to infanticide and the de facto advocation of nuclear war. A "porn star" and a foul-mouth, inarticulate clown are appropriate spokesmen for the evil Democrat Party.

Add to that forcing the Yurps to start paying their fair share for NATO or bring the boys home and withdraw.
