Honest ambivalence.
However, I think with the would-be suicide, Peterson was cooperating with the Holy Spirit.
It brought to mind Jesus' Parable of the Two Sons (Matthew 21:28-32) A man told his two sons to work in the vineyard. One of them said "No, I think not" and later he changed his mind and went anyway and did the work. The second one said, "Yes, sir" but didn't go.
Jesus ends up saying, "Which one did what the Father wanted?" and of course it was the first son. Then Jesus links that to entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
Whether he knows it or not, I think Peterson's acting under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
I agree with your post, wholeheartedly, Mrs. Don-o.
