Nothing new, sadly. For years we had a TWO THIRDS MAJORITY in both state houses, yet we could barely get a Voter ID bill through...and that was it, no school choice, no control over property taxes or state spending, NOTHING!

And so it continues, I guess.

School districts have become unaccountable to parents and taxpayers.
Liberal NGOs hook up with school administrators to influence them, though most coming out of the education schools are far left anyway.
The admins tell school boards what is recommended per studies or theoretically best for kids.
School boards tend toward liberal or may be conservative, but they make a common mistake in our society - they assume the so-called experts are neutral, unbiased and know best.
So they do what the admins say no matter what parents say.

A good start to curing this problem is culling the number of admin roles in all schools, such as mandating 70% of school funding goes to the classroom. In some places, is as low as 60%.
Then end the automatic promotions in pay and preference in promotion to admin based on education. Admins getting masters and doctorates in education rarely gain useful skills and tend instead to be more indoctrinated, to the detriment of parents.
Another step is ending the loophole of “supplemental materials” being used to introduce Common Core lessons regardless of the official textbooks.
