“Financial services” is mostly a euphemism for salesmen who sell financial products.
In order to be a good salesman, you have to appear not just normal, but superior. A handsome guy in an expensive suit can persuade customers to buy a deferred annuity with smooth talk. He may actually be as nutty as a fruitcake, but if he looks good and talks good, he will make sales.
