Youre addicted, and as long as you keep indulging yourself by saying Ive cut my bread intake in half or similar equivocations, youre still addicted and your pancreas wont re-set itself. You do have to go cold turkey on the bread, flour, pasta, rice, corn, fruit, sugary vegetables, and sweeteners. Sugars are also hidden in a lot of foods we dont think of as sweet, like ketchup and other condiments.
Later, when youve put your body into ketosis, youre doing aerobic and weight-bearing exercise, and your body fat and blood glucose levels are dropping fast, you can consider adding some fruit back into your diet.
