Lexington is a separate jurisdiction. (Cities are independent in Virginia.) Lexington City has become extremely Liberal. The surrounding counties are very Conservative.
Lexington is the most liberal city in Virginia that is west of Charlottesville.
Rockbridge County went to Trump by 61.9% of the vote. Lexington City went to Hillary 61.4%.
Lexington went to Northam (the Rat) by 66% of the vote, while Rockbridge went to Gillespie with 61.5% of the vote.

I would not call Lexington liberal. It has its liberal elements but I think this thing with the Red Hen is the fault of the Red Hen and not the fault of Lexington in general.
