Canada’s next federal election is scheduled to be held on Oct. 21, 2019, approximately 15 months from now. But nothing in Canada’s fixed election scheme prevents the government from going to the polls early. And late last week, it appears the Liberals are taking measures that cannot rule out an early election, possibly late summer or early fall.

As CTV and other media outlets reported late last week, beginning this week there will be a flurry of activity in all ridings throughout Canada. Nominations of Liberal candidates will begin on Wednesday, a sure indication the Liberals are preparing for a possible early election. (CTV, June 22)

After the devastating wipeout of the Ontario Libersls, lil Justin had good reason to be worried.

Conservatives are surging In Quebec and will certainly return to power in Alberta next year.

Whether an early dissolution of Parliament will save the federal Liberals remains to be seen .

A snap election would be a disaster for Turdeau. After a year, the newly elected Tory provincial government in Ontario will have experienced a few bumps and the Liberal brand will start to recover. If the election were held this year there would be a backlash against the transparent manipulation of the election date.

Why did the Canadians elect Trudeau in the first place.

I’ve met and done business with several Canadians and they seem very reasonable and professional.

The guy seems clearly out of his league of competence.

I listened to Jordan Peterson who took Trudeau apart for deciding to appoint females to 50% of his minister posts for no reason other than “fairness”.

How can intelligent Canadians put up with this nonsense?

Trudeau got elected for two reasons. The first is that, when the last election was called, baby boomer women were still the single most important voting bloc in Canada, followed by Millennials. Baby boomer women (i.e. my mother’s generation), still go absolutely gaga and weak-kneed over the very MENTION of the word ‘Trudeau’. All of those, who still gush over how ‘handsome’ and ‘debonair’ Pierre was, just swooned at the very idea of being allowed the chance to vote for his ‘dreamy’ son. Even most conservative-leaning Canadians understood that Little Justin’s coronation was an inevitable thing, especially when he won over the almost monolithically left-leaning Millennial generation. Baby boomer (and older) males, the the comparatively tiny GenX cohort (of which I’m a part of), were essentially irrelevant against the support that Justin had on his side.

Trudeau is nothing like his father.

He got good looks but doesn’t have competence or any new ideas apart from the common left-wing bromides throughout the West.

Basically, he’s the second Trudeau generation dynasty heir.

Canada is supposed to have fixed elections on the federal and provincial levels but nothing prevents an incumbent government from calling an earlier election if it thinks it has a good chance of winning it.

Thanks for your perspective on Trudeau.

So the infatuation with the father’s abilities overshadowed his son’s faults.

Well, what can we say? Americans elected Zero twice.
