Immigration; We Need A Virtual Barrier Immediately, Not More Detention Housing

"What, you want to tell me we can't do it until Congress appropriates the funds? I don't believe it. I understand checks and balances, but the President doesn't have that little power. If we can bomb wedding parties in Afghanistan without a Congressional declaration of war, surely we can put up a decent border barrier."

John Derbyshire as published at VDARE.com 6/23/2018

"Hiring many thousands of judges, and going through a long and complicated legal process, is not the way to go-will always be dysfunctional. People must simply be stopped at the Border and told they cannot come into the US illegally. Children brought back to their country....

President Donald J. Trump Twitter-843am Eastern 6/25/2018

Actions speak louder than words and Republicans and their apologists are good at using a phrase called "border security" to distract from the mass entry of a cheap labor army to meet the needs of business interests that fill both Democrat and Republican pockets.

The payoff to the Uniparty politicians means the crony capitalists get their way at the borders of our country through either a lack of security or through backdoors like special work visas.

Can we build a wall now and if we can't, what must happen immediately to stem the tide and spare the taxpayers the costs of housing and running the illegals through a legal process?

A trickle of hundreds of National Guard has been sent to the southern border but that is obviously not enough.

Until a wall can be built lets get a major invasion deterring military presence on the southern border in the interim.

Why not?

We face an invasion, that is obvious, at least to grassroots citizens who take the issue seriously.

Jeff Sessions talks about enforcement once the illegals get into the country and the crime and the MS-13 and so on.

The Border Patrol operates police state checkpoints inside the borders of our country asking questions of its citizens in the name of "border security" from Maine to New Mexico and other places.

We need to focus the solution of this problem on the border itself.

But how about a virtual wall now and hoepfully a permanent one later if our porous southern border is such a real problem.

Or is all this smoke and mirrors, kabuki, a charade?

A full military deployment en masse seems appropriate on the southern border immediately.

All the money wasted on las familias and the lil chill'ins could have been spent on The Wall.

If the idea of a judge/system is proven necessary, then fine. As you detain the guy in question, who has no visa or right to be in the country (even with a family)...simply remove him to some camp in the midst of New Mexico, on some military post. If it takes three years for him to be processed by the legal system, he can count on three meals a day and a cot. If he is willing to accept ‘easy’ deportation and leave....offer the guy $200 (a bribe that will never be repeated again). My guess is that most folks will accept the offer to leave rather than spend two years in some camp-ground.

“is not the way to go-will always be dysfunctional”

He’s right of course. It’s a fools errand to think you can apply some bureaucratic process to what is both a military and existential threat.

We didn’t have judges in the tents at Khe Sanh to review the cases of sappers coming under the wire.

Yes, action now. Close the border, seal it. Put troops on it. Reassign the FBI and DOJ headquarters staff to the border. Do something concrete. Then, let congress fund the wall and pull the people back out as the wall is built. Action. Not a single person should be allowed to cross illegally—toss them back, dead or alive, for all I care.

If we had seriously secured the border with military and police and accelerated wall construction starting last year this “family separation” issue would have been contained.

Until the Wall we need Troops, National Guard, a human shield at the border because once the illegals step foot on U.S. soil their Due Process rights attach. Or how about setting up a quarantine zone, like at airports where you are neither in or out of a country, like Snowden in the Moscow airport no man’s land.

We need troops on the border until the wall is built.

Is all of that money we spend only for defending other countries borders?

Our country does things when there is an “emergency”.

They had riots in Baltimore the other year during the Obama presidency and police were drafted in from other localities to help under some federal program.

I think there are people in high places who really don’t want to do anything serious about the border.

Their game is “secure the border” while they support help for workers to be imported into the country via visas.

The business supporters of politicians want cheap labor that hurts American workers.

The Harley folks moving their jobs overseas is one example.

The heck with wasting money caring for these lawbreaking scum. Catch ‘em and toss ‘em. All this wasted money treating them to a lifestyle they’d love to get used to could better be used to build the wall.

Post the military on the border, announce it LOUDLY

We would not need a ‘wall’ then...

(not all of it)

Until then, station the military on the border. Don’t let anyone cross.

I disagree. They should build a facility in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Malibu or all three, and house them THERE.

Mexico is hostile to the United States. We are under attack no different than Pearl Harbor. The only difference is the weapons being used. Once Mexico is recognized as hostile the President can send the military to the border. 3000 US military vehicles and troops fully armed will put an end to Mexico’s war on the United States.

The Canadians are much more restrictive in their closure to their border against crossings with unlawful intent. Years ago when driving over to St. Catherines from Lewiston, the Customs agent at the Ontario entry point asked me:

"What are you bringing that will not be taken back upon your departure?"

"Only a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon as a present for my lady friend," I said.

"Sir, I cannot permit you to import alcoholic beverage for delivery to a citizen of Canada without a license. I believe you indicated that this item was for your own consumption?"

I responded, "Sir, I am bringing only one bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for my own consumption during my visit."

He said, "Yes, sir. Duly noted. Please enjoy your stay."

And waved me on.

“We need a wall like the Israelies have.” Yup. Troops with guns, and expedited travel and dumped back to the border of their countries in Mexico and South America. It’s their country’s problem, not ours. There are other countries they can apply to for legal entry if the quota is full for America. For instance, Canada, and after being in Canada for 5 years they could enter the U.S. on the Canadian quota I believe. I knew a European who did just that, because otherwise he was facing a 10 year wait to enter the U.S. Of course, he had “smarts” and is self sufficient and not a burden to the state. But, of course, the goal of most of this invasion of entrants is: free housing, free medical, free schooling, and free food. I am hearing some of these kids they arrive with are not even their kids...just posing as such, as welfare benefits are more readily available.
