June 30, 1934: the Night of the Long Knives, Hitler's purge of those standing in his way

The Night of the Long Knives was a purge that took place in Nazi Germany from June 30 to July 2, 1934, when the Nazi regime carried out a series of political murders.

When Hitler rose to power in early 1933, he owed much of his success to the muscle of his Nazi Storm Troopers, the SA, a violent, ruthless army headed by Ernst Röhm, Hitler’s long-time friend. Röhm and his Storm Troopers brought Germany into submission by gaining control of the streets gangster-style and violently eliminating Hitler’s political enemies.

However, a threatening, revolutionary force was no longer useful now that Hitler was firmly in power. Hitler wanted to “go legit” and win over the regular army generals, the leaders of industry, and the German people. Most everyone in Germany disliked the SA, who were seen as the arrogant, bullying, murderous thugs that they were, and Hitler knew he needed to curtail their power to increase and solidify his own.

Hitler and the head of the German army, Werner von Blomberg, signed a secret agreement in which Hitler promised Blomberg’s army absolute control of the military (with precedence over the SA); and von Blomberg pledged the army’s backing when Germany’s 86-year-old president Paul von Hindenburg died and Hitler claimed the presidency. But von Hindenburg informed Hitler that the SA must be brought to heel ASAP, or he would declare martial law in Germany and let the army run the show.

On the night of June 30, units of the SS arrested the leaders of the SA and other political opponents. Seventy-seven men were executed on charges of treason, though historians tend to think the figure is higher. Hitler also took the opportunity to assassinate anyone that he didn’t like, or had crossed him, or looked at him the wrong way.

Nazis were a socialist and a homosexual party.

Not unlike today’s Democrats.

A close friend of mine is a great nephew of Ernst Rohm. He doesn’t mention it very often.

The Democrats will not win big in November, and therefore, they will not impeach Trump.

But if they had the power, they would imitate the Night of the Long Knives. They have a long list of people they want to get rid of.

“Nazis were a socialist and a homosexual party.

Not unlike today’s Democrats.”

Roehm and many of his followers were queer but that problem was taken care of. The German communists of the era were the progenitors of today’s “democrats” and there is a direct thread down through the years.

He killed off the Communists in the party and also those who wanted to usurp the Wehrmacht. It was the smart move, because it allowed Hitler to gain the support of two of the most important groups he needed to win: The Industrialists, who were leery of Rohm’s stated goals of seizing the means of production, and The Wehrmacht, who were worried they would be replaced by the SA.

Well, it may be true that the NSDAP was a socialist style party, as well as being fascist, but my understanding was the point of the night of the long knives was to decapitate the homo-mafia that was controlling the SA, and undoubtedly trying to pressure Herr Hitler as well. Goebbels, I think it was, wrote a piece about the danger of the homosexual in the workplace — similar to having women in the workplace, they hire, select, and favor those like them so qualifications fall by the board and only the homos get ahead. So, I’m not convinced the NSDAP were a homosexual party.

The Nazis also employed extremist agiprop and defamation to dehumanize—- preparing the way for their street thug gangsters and their duped mobs to attack all their innocent ( and unprepared) victims ———just like how many of the Democrats are doing today in USA. It is a serious serious case of dejavu all over again.

The more interesting and appropriate story has to do with the Doctor’s Plot. Stalin’s plan to exterminate Russia’s Jews that was all ready to go in 1953 just before he died.

After he died Beria —once head of the secret police but at the time Stalin’s Premier—said the whole Jewish hysteria cooked up by stalin was just an excuse to exterminate Russia’s Jews.

It is this same Beria that Dershowitz quotes when he says “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

Meaning that Beria could find a crime on anyone—that also Mueller’s team is doing the same thing.

Dershowitz doesn’t like the way the democrats criminalized political differences.

Interested folks may wish to listen to the powerful song, The Last Day of June 1934”, by Al Stewart. The bridge will send shivers up your spine.
“Moonlight carved out of steel”. Amazing, sorrowful song.

The Strasser brothers were leaders of the socialist wing of the party. Gregor was dealt with in the 'Night of the Long Knives" but Otto got away.

The history of the Nazi Party is riddled with infighting and positioning of of the inner circle for more power. It’s amazing that Hitler survived over 40 assassination attempts.

><><

Socialist, yes, homosexual, not very much.

Only 10-11% of Germans belonged to the Nazi party. Few German Generals or Field Marshalls belonged to the Nazi party.

Both Hillary Clinton and obama are gay and have killed many people. I wish Trump would start arresting the democrats.
The next batch will be even more evil.
