You’re right, technically, but go around carrying in a city or state that does not have reciprocity with your state, and you’ll likely be spending a lot of your hard earned money, fighting for your constitutional rights.
That's why you only open carry in such places with ten to twenty thousand like minded friends.
So you equate your random thought with the media articles that are posted and commented upon on FR. Yup, vanity.
Do you even hear yourself?
You're implying that only compositions that are published in the media are worthy of posting on this forum. You're saying that any member generated content is of some lower standard, and that it's 'vain' to post such content here.
Granted, not every 'vanity' is well composed. Some are just a few sentences strung together, and not always easy to understand. On the other hand, some 'vanities' are excellently composed, and are on par with the best articles published in the media.
My only point is one of principle. I don't believe it's 'vain' for any member to post their own self generated content on this, or any other forum.
As I've already said, you can post your content onto any thread. That is what we do. But starting a new thread because one has a random thought is called a "vanity" for a good reason.
"You're implying that only compositions that are published in the media are worthy of posting on this forum..."
No, I'm stating that any random thought you have is not as significant as the published articles we discuss here. That doesn't mean those articles are good. Much of the discussion is often pointing out what's wrong with them. It doesn't mean your thought is wrong. It's simply pointing out that having a thought about something does not mean it needs to be its own thread. You can express yourself within the discussions that are already here.
This drivel is now 3 pages deep?
Good grief.
I agree that random thoughts are generally best posted as comments within existing threads, and I'll reiterate that some 'vanities' are little more than a few disjointed sentences strung together, but ~
Some members post self generated compositions that are well done, and easily the equal of anything published in the media. It's still my contention that it's not 'vain' to post a random thought, or a three thousand word essay here.
Ooops! So sorry 😏
