It is the echo chamber they are in.

They attribute all good economic news to President Obama, and all bad news to President Trump.

They reflexively say the “economy is not improving” because they think that hurts President Trump.

I am staying in the Madison, Wisconsin area, and that is what I hear from intellegent, well educated people.

Rather bizarre,

You can be intelligent educated, and ignorant of current reality, all at the same time.

More than that, they form their opinion first,(conservatives bad) then try to rationalize everything around them through that looking glass.

What cannot be rationalized is simply ignored.
