Police in Scotland have arrested the paragliding protester who was able to get surprisingly close to President Donald Trump on Friday night as the President visited his Turnberry golf resort.

In a statement, Police Scotland said a 55-year-old man has been charged and will appear in Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday.

After the President arrived at his Turnberry resort, the paraglider, a Greenpeace activist, flew by the President with a banner that read, "TRUMP, WELL BELOW PAR #RESIST," and then managed to escape.

Greenpeace tweeted an image of the incident with the caption, "We've just delivered a message to @RealDonaldTrump as he was standing outside his hotel in Turnberry watching....

The fellow should be prosectuted to the max, as an example.

But I think you are right. He was seen soon enough that the danger to President Trump was minimal.

He presented plenty of danger to others there, but President Trump was already inside and relatively safe at his closest approach.

It can’t be plausible that the Secret Service was oblivious to any of this typical idiocy from Greenpeace. If it was, there is a very serious problem.

The Greenpeace organization should be held accountable too.

Congo woman protester at Statue of Liberty could have carried a big backpack with plastic explosives and grenades.

Any Greenpeace hanglide jerk could whip out a firearm or drop a bomb below.

Some gay love triangle chef’s assistant could do what Anthony Bourdain said and poison the President’s food surreptitiously to impress or defy his gay lover. Similar: a passenger train derailment crash was due to a gay lover’s loss of a man and wanting to end it all and take passengers with him. Press covered it up a long time.

That’s why I am convinced the authorities OK’ed the incident.

What’s the point of designating ‘restricted airspace’ if the restriction is not going to be seriously enforced? This sets a terrible precedent for other would be violators.

This stunt seemed to catch everyone by surprise. It is suggestive of a very serious (i.e., lax) security problem.

When you think about the massive packed gatherings at open air sports events in this country, we should be worried about a drone attack on the fans. Tom
