I expect a police officer to be thicker skinned than to take a minor incident to the national press.
He has been humiliated, by his wife.
The wife needs to man up, so to speak, and get used to a real world where sometimes people won’t like you for no fault of your own.
If I’d already paid (which the cop had) and the server then refused me my meal (which this server did), I’d be trying to get him fired too.
